Pre-treatment instructions
Please follow these instructions before your appointment to ensure your laser skin treatment or carbon facial can be performed safely and effectively.
🌿 Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds, or fake tan for at least 14 days before treatment
🌿 Do not use retinol, glycolic acid, AHAs, BHAs, or other active skincare products on the treatment area for 7 days prior to treatment (chemical peels should be avoided for 14 days)
🌿 Avoid exfoliating treatments, scrubs, or strong facials for 7 days before your appointment
🌿 Do not wax, thread, pluck, or use hair removal creams on the treatment area for at least 7 days before treatment
🌿 Avoid Botox or dermal fillers in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior, unless advised otherwise by your practitioner
🌿 Keep your skin well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment
🌿 Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for 24 hours before your treatment, as this may increase skin sensitivity
🌿 Inform your practitioner of any medications, medical conditions, or recent skin treatments before your appointment
🌿 Arrive with clean skin free from makeup, creams, oils, SPF, or skincare products
🌿 A patch test may be required prior to treatment depending on your skin type, medical history, or treatment area. Treatment will not proceed if an adverse reaction occurs.
Treatment cannot be performed if you are:
⚠️ Pregnant or breastfeeding
⚠️ Taking Roaccutane (or within the last 6 months)
⚠️ Taking photosensitising medications
⚠️ Experiencing active acne infections, open wounds, cold sores, sunburn, eczema, dermatitis, or skin irritation in the treatment area
⚠️ Recently tanned or using fake tan on the treatment area
⚠️ Currently taking antibiotics or feeling unwell
⚠️ Diagnosed with medical conditions that may affect skin healing without medical clearance
Following these guidelines helps ensure your laser skin treatment or carbon facial is safe, effective, and delivers the best possible results. If you have any questions before your appointment, please contact the clinic for advice.
